My Story
My fascination with nutrition and the power of nutritious food began after spending a year travelling through SE Asia and Australia. I had been diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome in 2003 and told by my doctor that there was nothing I could do except take some pills for the pain and cramping. Travelling through Thailand and Cambodia, I noticed that the bloating had subsided. However once I had reacquainted myself with a western diet, my digestion deteriorated once more.
A very good friend recommended that I see a nutritional therapist who had helped with her eczema. This consultation changed my entire outlook on what healthy eating comprised of. Through following the tailored therapeutic nutrition plan, I understood how my overall diet had been making me ill. As a child I grew up eating traditional Indian food and had witnessed all close family members from parents to grandparents being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes.
Through nutritional therapy, I want to equip people with the tools and knowledge to have a deeper understanding of how to nourish their body through eating tasty and nutrient dense foods. Foods which can prevent the onset of modern day afflictions like cancer, diabetes and obesity.
